A great Nightmare - ナイトメア album!

In my opinion, this is one the best album Nightmare's released. Highly recommended. This album presents a more thoughtful and mature approach to Nightmare’s work, all while maintaining their characteristic rough edge. The sound of this album has a lighter and has a more pop feeling. Every song is composed and performed with excellent skill, and the lyrics are powerful and very artistic. This is one of their best work; musically, lyrically, and aesthetically. With songs like the rough and powerful "Sanagi" or "Sekishoku", the beautiful, mysterious, calm and energetic "Varuna", the jazzy and genuine "Underdog", the powerful, fast-paced and fun "Tokyo Shounen", EVERY song on here is wonderful, seriously. I listen to every song equally, even the opening track "Sanagi". Additionally, the album tracks stand out great on their own against the singles, and complement them beautifully. I especially love "Travel" probably the best conclusion to any album, "Tsuki no hikari", "Shian", "Varuna", "Gianism Go", an absolutely awesome addition in the series. All the members are performing incredibly, and Yomi's voice has such a range!! Angsty, and coarse, but also soft and thoughtful; it evokes such emotion. This is actually the time period that I think his voice was the best. But, what really impresses me is how meaningful the lyrics are. This album is as genuine as a band can get. No gimmicks, no artificially "emotional" songs. I can really feel from this album that they don't care about what others say, or care about how well it sells, they just want to be themselves and be true to their audience. Music can be genuine, and this album is proof! There is also an interesting aspect on the arrangement of the songs. The first two are sort of connected, and a couple songs have melodies that are like the reverse of each other. I give the album 5 stars for being awe-inspiring in all the ways I mentioned above. If you're a fan of Visual Kei and never heard of Nightmare - ナイトメア before now, you should give it a go, it is really worth it!

I love Nightmare. They aqre my favorite band in the world, and I am SOOOOO happy that itunes has some of their music. However, it is insanely annoying the spelling errors. The titile of one of the songs is tokyo shounen. The other is sekishoku, and just because it's a pet peeve of mine, there is a space between "gianism" and "go"

the one that started it all

This my friends is what made me get into j-rock. i regret nothing.

Nightmare are one of the more successful visual kei bands, able to tone down their X-Japan/Luna Sea worship and the predilection for extravagant attire that comes with the style. Thanks to that, and the careful crafting of their goth/hard rock infused with a healthy dose of pop-jazz, they managed to swiftly rise to the heights of the Japanese music industry, evidenced by their collaboration with some of the bigger anime series. The band was started in 2000 by Sakito and Hitsugi, both guitar players,...
