Notas editoriales de iTunes

Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis doesn’t simply turn off the amps for this acoustic record, but actually crafts the songs to fit the acoustic medium. For Mascis, this is a major statement. During past acoustic excursions, he played his acoustic guitars like they were hooked up to Marshall stacks. But his gentler side takes over for these positively pleasant sing-alongs. Yes, while “Listen to Me” sounds like a Dinosaur Jr. tune, “Not Enough” could be punk meets Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Similarly, “Very Nervous and Love” pushes forth the Neil Young comparisons with its deeply wounded feel. Only a few musicians are added for spice. Kurt Vile on guitar. Sophie Trudeau on violin. Pall Jenkins on keyboards. No one takes up much space. “Make It Right” and “Can I” flesh out nicely, while “Too Deep” is a sparse number that’s catchy and compact. J Mascis was never expected to make music so soothing. Yet, he has. A great surprise from an alternative rock legend.

Keeps Getting Better!

I pre-ordered this from sub pop and got It last Friday like the other reviewer. After about 5 listens to this album I can proudly say this is a keeper. Every track is good. J's voice sounds great as ever. He still has that lazy draw in his singing that makes the listener almost feel sympathy for the man. His guitar playing is excellent as always. He has a wonderful blend of acousitc playing mixed with some electric acoustic playing. There's not a solo on every song, but when he does solo it is in all its fuzzy gloriousness. Most of the tracks are very strong. Some riffs do sound like they were recycled from his previous songs, but that's not a bad thing. This album really grows on you. I even enjoyed more when I was riding down the road listening to it. In my opinion, J Mascis can do no wrong. He has excellent song writing ablities and extrordinare guitar playing. J almost reminds me of Eric Clapton. He's comfortable with his playing as he gets older and really does it for the love of the music. If you liked any of J's acoustic stuff on his Dino jr. albums you will not be disapointed. My favorite track on this album is get it done, but buy the whole album it's worth it.

simply wonderful

I have cheated a bit! Or better , my local Recordstore has cheated a bit! Bought J.'s new Record on purple Vinyl(Yessss) last Friday, several days before it's official release and have listened to it a couple of times since then. The record reminds me of when he was doing Solo Tour a couple of years back before the Dinosaur reunion, just playing his Songs on an acoustic Guitar. Except for the fact that this is his quitest record, it all sounds like typical J. Mascis material!!! And that is not a bad thing;) probably won't make many new friends with this but fans like me won't be disapointed . So far i'm thinking this might be his strongest record since more light. But that's just my opinion . Thanks J.
P.S. please come to Washington D.C. with this

Cute album

Love the sound of this. It puts me in a happy mood.

Best known as the remote frontman of the influential indie trio Dinosaur Jr., J Mascis has also been an occasional producer and film composer. Born December 10, 1965 in Amherst, Massachusetts, he first emerged as a member of the hardcore unit Deep Wound, founding Dinosaur in 1984. Over the course of acclaimed LPs like 1987's You're Living All Over Me and 1988's Bug, the group emerged among the most highly regarded in alternative rock, with Mascis' creaky, Neil Young-like vocals and monolithic guitar...
