The Goodbye Girl

Always have loved David's music. No one else like him. The song "Took the Last Train", is one of my favorites...Well written and sung, and very upbeat. Simple lyrics to learn to sing to and makes me reminisce of times past. True Music with well thought out composition and compassion/feeling. love playing this a lot.

The GoodBye Girl.

The Goodbye girl lead me here. Great movie, awesome song.

Loved Gates From First Bread Album

Goodbye Girl is probably the standout song most people will recognize on this album. A great song, one that when I think back, when I hear this song, I know exactly where I was and when.
However, for those who like David Gates' music, be it this album or any Bread album, I must bring attention to The Cloud Suite! This is David's masterpiece to me! He's always had a brilliant ear for harmony, and conducting and arranging. I believe he produced a couple or few of the Bread albums but don't quote me on that. Cloud Suite is a modern composition in several movements, just as any classical piece, carries a very dreamy melody that changes and returns, he really outdid himself on this piece. I love it!!
