Customer Reviews

Excellent Album!

Contrary to what other people (I should say person) say in the reviews, this is technically not a greatest hits album but a collection of songs to chronicle this librarian's life. So when people complain that she didn't pick her greatest hits, she didn't try to. Also, pratically every song on here has been remastered and if you know Tori's music well enough you can definitley hear the differences from the originals. All in all it's a great album and definitley worth it.

tori fann

This a great album. Has a lot of the music video versions of the songs, for example in Cornflake Girl you can here a lot of the background vocals that you herd in the US version of the cornflake girl video. The songs have a better and not as scratchy sound compared to the ones you here on there original albums. If you are looking for Tori's older classics you should get them from Tales of a Librarian.

Random

This was a "thanks for the memories" album for Atlantic I think. It's a random release, since it was soon followed by a boxed set, you can barely tell the difference on some of the remastered songs, the new ones were...good..but random, even for Tori, and I've yet to see the DVD that accompanied this disc. I guess if you have cash to burn and wanted to hear what she was actually saying in some background vocals then this is the album for you. You can't really criticize the songs as they were all hits on their respective works. But you can criticize her choice of which songs got the attention. This is the album you buy when you have a new fancy stereo to try out and want to hear your old Tori songs.

Tori Amos (born Myra Ellen Amos) was one of several female singer/songwriters who combined the stark, lyrical attack of alternative rock with a distinctly '70s musical approach, creating music that fell between the orchestrated meditations of Kate Bush and the stripped-down poetics of Joni Mitchell. In addition, she revived the singer/songwriter traditions of the '70s while re-establishing the piano as a rock & roll instrument. With her 1992 album Little...
