iTunes Review

Aerosmith were one of the biggest hard-rock bands of the ‘70s and they did so with a personality as big as the arenas they packed. Singer Steven Tyler was the perfect, magnetic frontman while his band’s rhythm section of drummer Joey Kramer and bassist Tom Hamilton were the best-kept secret in the industry. Face it, tracks like “Toys In the Attic,” “Walk This Way,” and “Sweet Emotion” swing with far more ferocity than most other hard rock bands of the era. Where most hard rock bands were content to plod and bludgeon, Aerosmith never forgot their R&B roots, whether it’s the cover of the old blues classic “Big Ten Inch Record” or the swinging groove of “Uncle Salty.” “Round and Round” pushes towards the monolithic hard rock of their legendary Rocks album, while “You See Me Crying” proves Tyler could sit at the piano and turn a ballad. Guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford provide Stones-like teamwork and their playing rattles with passion and inspiration.

now this is old school rock!!!!

Flawless album

This is a great album!! "Toys" and "Rocks" are tied for my favorite Aerosmith albums.

One Of Aerosmith's Best!

This is one of Aerosmith's best albums. Let me break it down- Toys In The Attic:one of the albums most hard rocking songs, it shows the band in its meanest, grittiest, and rawest form. Uncle Salty: A slower song but great, it shows a deeper side of their songwriting. Adams Appple: This song has great riffs and the lyrics are hilarious! Walk This Way: A catchy tune that never gets old! Big Ten Inch Record: The band playing the fast blues, but the lyrics are hilarious! Sweet Emotion: The most driving song on the record, catchy and pure rythm power. No More No More: A great old tune that is pure Aerosmith style. Round And Round: The darker meaner side of Aerosmith shows in this song, great old rock n roll! You See me crying: the ballad of the ambum, it shows that Aerosmith can write a ballad and can get complicated with their music! Great 70's rock album and a classic that I can play all the time!

Aerosmith were one of the most popular hard rock bands of the '70s, setting the style and sound of hard rock and heavy metal for the next two decades with their raunchy, bluesy swagger. The Boston-based quintet found the middle ground between the menace of the Rolling Stones and the campy, sleazy flamboyance of the New York Dolls, developing a lean, dirty riff-oriented boogie that was loose and swinging and as hard as a diamond. In the meantime, they developed a prototype for power ballads with...
