Editors’ Notes

Argentina’s Capsula has been steadily earning the respect of the people the trio admires. Solar Secrets is Capsula's first official worldwide release, and its sound is made especially vibrant by legendary producer Tony Visconti, who’d just completed David Bowie’s powerful comeback album The Next Day. (Capsula recorded its version of the entire Ziggy Stardust album in 2012.) “Riverside of Love” announces a great depth of sound and style, with thick washes of Martin Guevara’s guitars retaining a punk-like anger among the glam prettiness. Ignacio Villarejo Solimo (a.k.a. Nacho) is a drummer who locks into a groove so firmly that a tune like “Blind” sees its way to the finish no matter how twisted the bass lines from Coni Duchess are. “Seven Crimes” sounds as if the trio's ascending a large tower built to the sky. “Dark Age” uses a twisted blues lick worthy of The Black Keys to find its own dark catharsis. “Trails of Senselessness” takes a cinematic cruise with a joyful pop song at its heart. Visconti and Capsula are the right marriage for the right time.

On repeat...

I'm really liking this album. The way the bass lines and guitar riffs just keep moving you forward. I literally feel like the music makes you feel like you're living in a movie with each song creating a scene that's unfolding right in front of you. Listening to "Dark Age" while walking around a big city, you're sure to see and feel things differently. I really enjoyed their last album especially "Under The Woods"..check that one out.

I have watched and listened to Capsula and enjoyed their progression. Solar Secrets is the logical next step for them sonically. Tony Visconti really pulled the best out of them and it shows. Cannot wait to get this when it is available. I also read that they are releasing this on limited edition colored vinyl? Thank god for having a turntable this should rattle a few windows in the house.

Awesome garage band music!

It's one of those albums that you need to grab a cold beer and just have playing in the background at a bbq or skate park. This kind of reverb twang makes you want to go full rebel and go on a road trip or something!

Garage rock trio Capsula formed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1998, fusing the South American psychedelia of Os Mutantes and the much less well-known bands that appear on those grey-market compilations of vintage '60s South American singles with the twin passions of British glam rock (the name Capsula was chosen in homage to a line from David Bowie's "Space Oddity") and American proto-punk acts like the Velvet Underground and the Stooges. Singer and guitarist Martin Guevara, bassist Coni Lisica,...
