Nice smooth jazz trumpet

Of the 3 albums of former Earth, Wind, & Fire trumpeter Leslie Drayton available on iTunes, Urbanesque is his most mature. Nice smooth jazz. Good for dinner music, travel music, cruising' around the city music, music for the beach. Just nice. He doesn't get a lot of cred from jazz reviewers, because his music isn't really innovative or super hip, but for what he does, it works and is worth a listen. Sadly, his best composition, "Monday Afternoon" from his album Innuendos, is not available on iTunes, and that really is too bad. It got some significant smooth jazz airplay back in the late 1980s.

A founding member of Earth, Wind & Fire, Drayton went on to be involved with a variety of projects during the 1970s.
