Treasure Planet (Music from the Motion Picture)

James Newton Howard's third Disney animated score is a solid if predictable effort in the composer's signature larger-than-life orchestral vein. Like the previous Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Treasure Planet is pure Disney formula, balancing rousing action, cornball comedy, and bittersweet romance in bold, broad strokes. What sets it apart from its predecessor is the presence of Gaelic whistles and fiddles, as well as a fiery electric guitar that adds a dash of rock & roll to Howard's otherwise conventional symphonic sensibilities. The problem with Treasure Planet is the problem that plagues all contemporary Disney scores, and that's the mind-numbing predictability of the music's emotional arc: if you've heard one of these, you've heard 'em all. Banal pop tunes from Goo Goo Dolls frontman Johnny Rzeznik and BBMak merely compound the facelessness.
A good Disney Movie forgotten...
This was one of Disney's best, the one that unfortunately wasn't recognized as a wonderful movie.
Finally you guys got the sountrack of the movie, now all we're missing is the movie. If it's okay with you, can you please put the movie, Treasure Planet on here so we can see it on our iPods.
Wheres The Movie?
Thank you iTunes. This soundtrack has such an original sound to it. I love I'm Still Here and the catchy upbeat rhythm, thats sad and happy both at once, of Always Know Where You Are. But where's the movie? It's one of Disney's all-time BEST, in my opinion that is. It's such an inspiring film of self-belive and friendship. It should be on here. If you can, please add it to the movie selection. I'd buy it in a heartbeat and I'm sure lots of others would too. You wouldn't be sorry if you put it on here. Please?
