iTunes Review

The saga of the Rubber Band Man continues. While the rapper/author/reality TV star has had some well-publicized run-ins with the men in blue, he always seems to snap back and his tribulations have made this urban legend's story more compelling. This star-studded collection opens with a Marvin Gaye-sampling hustler’s theme, (“Introduction”) that reminds listeners of T.I.’s journey—a candid glimpse into his life and thoughts that’s echoed on the R. Kelly-assisted “Can You Learn.” Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head is packed with sinister beats punctuated by dramatic synths (“Addresses,” “G Season” feat. Meek Mill, “Trap Back Jumpin”), which offer the perfect canvas for The King of the South to paint with his smooth, relentless flow. P!nk pops up on a touching ode to doomed relationships (“Guns and Roses”), Lil Wayne stunts on the ‘80s-inspired slapper “Ball,” and listeners are treated to appearances by André 3000, Akon, A$AP Rocky, and Cee Lo Green.

A southern banger by the KING

This is by far his best work and I am a Brooklyn dude. TI always had flow and lyrics and this album cements his legacy as one of the best rappers of our generation

Classic T.I. Smash

this album took me back to I'm Serious, Trap Muzik, and Urban Legend all wrapped into one. T.I. done came back with a smash. It's the King, partna #HustleGang

Once dubbed "the Jay-Z of the South" by Pharrell Williams, T.I. gradually came into his own and established himself as one of rap's most successful MCs during the early 2000s. Like Jay-Z, T.I. -- born Clifford Harris in Atlanta, Georgia -- carried a balance of smoothness and toughness, and although 2001's I'm Serious didn't shoot him out of the gate à la Reasonable Doubt, he consistently grew and launched a string of major hits with 2003's "24's." Throughout the six following years, T.I. maintained...
