Sublime! Yet another fantastic album by Knopfler.

Mark Knopfler has does it again! He has come out with yet another excellent solo album. Here is a musician who has accomplished what few others have: he has surpassed, as a solo artist, the great success he achieved as the frontman of arguably one of the best bands of the 80s (Dire Straits). This latest effort by Knopfler keeps in the tradition of Ragpickers Dream and Shangrila, two milestones in his seemingly endless musical career. This album, like Ragpickers and Shangrila, is soulful, deep, mellow, mature and anything but standard. He imparts a different tone and texture to every song. His sound is a perfect mixture of blues, jazz, rock, folk. Yes, as readers can tell, I am a Knopfler fan, but there is a good reason for that: he is a musical genius, in a time when there are painfuly few of those around.

Another classic from Mark Knopfler

Mark Knopfler, the Aaron Sorkin of the music world (sophisticated, smart, and witty), is out with another collection true to his form and to his music. Knopfler's clean guitar and baritone lyics are a warm welcome to the fall season, and a gem to tide us over the long winter to come. From the opening bars, you can tell that neither Knopfler, nor his style have gone out of fashion. Every listen is like a taste of fine wine and just gets better and better. Although the instumentation is very traditional with even a taste of Celtic, the man definately has a rock and roll heart. Is there a "hit" on it? Who cares? This is Knopfler at his best.

Very Good

Knopfler's staying pretty consistant with pumping out a quality cd every year, and Kill to Get Crimson is another winner. Lots of Hammond organ, Bluesy guitar riffs, Irish heartbeats and of course great lyrics. just a slight down grade from his last 2 CD's Shangri-La and All The Roadrunning with Emmylou Harris but still a solid collection of tunes. Mark Knopfler has a sound all to his own and he shows it well.

Género: Rock

Años de actividad: '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

The most celebrated British guitar hero to emerge in the 1970s and '80s, Mark Knopfler rose to fame as the leader of Dire Straits, and his songwriting and incisive guitar work played a decisive role in making them an international success story. At a time when punk and new wave were making technique for its own sake seem irrelevant, and metal was taking the guitar solo in noisier and unpredictable directions, Knopfler's clean but dexterous picking proved there was still room for traditionalism and...
