below the radar. above the din.

With little fanfare surrounding the release of "Trust Everyone Before They Break Your Heart,' Portland Oregon's JONAH has crafted one of the finest independent albums of the last several years. This four piece delivers a record of rich musical and lyrical contrasts, with songs of dashed hopes, wreckless optimism, unfulfilled promise and quiet deliverance. Henry (Chopper) Curl's emotional tenor soars over the vibrant guitar work of Chris Hayes, while the rhtyhm section of Jake Endicott (drums) and Matt Rogers (bass) dig deep enough to support the towering melodies of these songs. Worth way more than the price of admission, this is an album that will stand the test of time. Listen like it you mean it. Highlights: "Runaground" "All Alarms" "All That Remains" "A Patient Man" "Lights Out" "The Joy of Drowning" "Welcome Here"

THE Must Buy Indie Album of 2007

With constant comparisons to Radiohead and Coldplay reviewers create an atmosphere of high expectation, and this album does not disappoint. Henry's vocals and lyrics are delicately powerful and simplistically complex. Jonah creates a sound that is all their own. From Chris’ soaring guitar to Jake’s inspired drumming, this is a band that knows music and each other. Trust Everyone Before They Break Your Heart is one of those rare albums that you’ll like from the start but LOVE in the end. The best indie album I’ve purchased since Jack Johnson’s Brushfire Fairytales. Recommended tracks; Runaground, Don’t Disappear, Welcome Here, and Patient Man.

Jonah's second full-length record is nothing short of amazing...the melodies are huge and strong and sometimes bombastic, but always addictive. The instrumentation is lush and gorgeous...Why aren't these guys HUGE?
