I May Be Slightly Biased, But...

For me, this is the single greatest R&B album ever. I wore out the original record and I literally learned how to sing back up vocals witrh Otis and his fabulous back up singers Rhodes, Chalmers & Rhodes, an education that has served me well in the intervening years. Willie Mitchell's signature production is flawless ands these songs.... can I just take a moment to praise the songs? I guess I learned a thing or two about songwriting here too. Otis' vocals of course are the finishing touch, the crowning achievement here. Everybody who grew up loving old school R&B and everybody who wants to learn all there is to know about it needs to own this album.
