Customer Reviews

A little misleading.

After the crossover that Eros Ramazzotti, Laura Pausini, Nek and Andrea Bocelli did from the 90's to this millenuim, we have not seen many italians crossing over to spanish. This guy could be a good one, over all becuase of his unique style that is not very common in latin music. This album under the same name and cover from his italian album, is actualy a compilation of songs from his prior albums, but not the best one, some of his best songs are missing, and if he was going to sing in spanish some of them why not make them sound mor updated instead of using the same track from the prior albums? As some one stated before, this is ok, but I much preffer his italian albums as well. Hopefully I tunes start's putting more italian albums on the library, or in that matter, more international albums.

Really Good but...

If you've never heard the Italian version, I highly recommend the CD. The lyrics are beautiful and the melodies will stick to your brain all day long. Also, for any spanish speaking fans who sang along not quite knowing what you were saying but with a jist, this is the perfect CD. Some of his best work is here like with Mirame a los Ojos, Ella Es, and CiertoFalso. However, for me at least, some of them just have to be sung in Italian and lose some of their value in traslation. Mirame a los Ojos, for example, is just engraved in my brain as Guardami Negli Occhi (Io ti amo) for me to sing it in Spanish. But still, it's great.

News Flash for Totes

Paolo has done the crossover to spanish for quite a few years actually we just don t hear about here in the USA, also there is another young italian singer named Luca Disirio or Luca Dirisio whom has also done the crossover to spanish it would be nice to get more of him on itunes too both spanish and italian versions

Though he was born in Lugano, Switzerland, Paolo Meneguzzi grew up in the Milanese city of Varese. It was there that he first became interested in music, surrounded by a family to whom arts were important, receiving his first guitar at age eight, and singing on television for the first time two years later. Though he wanted to perform in his homeland, he decided he might have more success in South America, and in 1996 he performed at Chile's Viña del Mar Festival, winning it with the song "Aria Ariò."...
