Good all songs

Thankfully because this guy is great! We all remember 'Walking In Memphis' well like most 'one hit wonders' this man is capable of much more then that one great song. This CDs was my intro to him his songs take u right through the roots of his sorrows and his healing. Songs like 'Lost You in the Canyon' is quite unimaginable but thats the beauty of it. 'Girl of Mysterious Sorrow' is another stand out song. All these songs stand out in their own way, flowing nicely but having something unique to offer any listener. A few other great songs are 'Healing Hands', 'Ellis Island' and a great cover of 'Turn On Your Radio' Buy and enjoy.

Another great album by Marc Cohn

There are very few artists that I enjoy the CD from beginning to end. Even fewer that I enjoy every one of their albums. I will not lie, of all his albums there are two songs I'm not a fan of. At work, we started a list of our top 100 all time favorite songs. I own all his CDs but couldn't put my hands on this one this morning. Hence to the Bat itunes for Healing Hands. The others are great too, but if I'm restricting myself to 100 songs this one is in my top 10.

If you aren't aware of Marc Cohn beyond Walking In Memphis, test a few other songs from that CD including Silver Thunderbird, Strangers In A Car and True Companion. If you like what you hear, then you will enjoy Marc Cohn. After the Walking In Memphis CD, this would be my second choice before branching out to the rest of his work.

Where’d he go?

Wonderful song writing and masterful musicianship. “Lost You in the Canyon” — off the charts.

One Sunday morning in the early '70s, a youngster in Cleveland caught an earful of Van Morrison's Astral Weeks and his life was never to be the same. That kid was Marc Cohn, and soon after that morning, he bought everything Morrison had released to date, along with works by Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne. Soon thereafter, an older brother taught him a Ray Charles tune on the piano, and he joined a cover band, Doanbrook Hotel. He sang with them from junior high school until he left home for Oberlin...
