iTunes Review
Jhené Aiko and Big Sean got themselves a room. The L.A. singer/songwriter and Detroit MC pair up for a concept robo-R&B record that sweats sensuality. The pair circle each other with purred vocals and firm, salacious verses as they timeline a very modern relationship set to hypnotic beats, bracing trap drums, and some pomped-up soul. It’s a seductive cocktail: “Push It” is deliriously steamy, “2 Minute Warning” brings in K-Ci & Jojo to heighten the sexual tension, while the clever “Talk Show” circulates in a hazy mist of flutes and vengeful put-downs.
