70's Pop Stew

If the lesser known members of the Average White Band, Little Feat, Toto and Kool & the Gang got together as Michael McDonald passed by in the hallway you would get this as your end result. It's everything Steely Dan didn't release minus the Donald Fagan lead vocal tracking. It's the Doobie Brothers without the hooks and jive. A better title might have been "Starched and Steady". Worthy of a purchase if you're totally into the period. Yacht Rock on choppy waters circa 1977and a half. Unfortunately for Pages they attempt to make "Ambroaja" as Ambrosia and Steely Dan were becoming cliche` and expect it to fly with the peeps. And the timing could not have been worse if you consider that in only the span of 500 days New Wave and Michael, Queen and Madonna would own the radio and our newest friend MTV's video screens. I'd recommend "Chemistry", the title track "Future Street" and "Keep On Movin'" or "Who's Right, Who's Wrong" and "Two People" if you're questioning your relationship and need a good drive and a cry. I sorta wish these guys could get back together, do some "serious" woodshedding and whip up sompin' smoove but modernely accessible minus the "dryness". .

Required listening for fans of sophisticated pop!

Richard Page and Steve George are GREAT musicians and performers! They are more well known for their later band "Mr. Mister", but this earlier group is great in a very different way. Love it!

Great stuff.

Some excellent crafted songs (Who’s Right, Who’s Wrong with Kenny Loggins)

Loggins released it on a solo album, but this is the 1st and best version of that song.

Sailor's Song is cool and kind of Jazzy.

Compared to the most of simple garbage that’s out now, there is no comparison.
