Fantastic

Some of the thickest, heaviest groove-metal riffs I've ever heard, uniformly strong singing from Phil and Laura and some really strong drumming. Kylesa do here what Mastodon did on "The Hunter." Having established their proggy bona fides, this time out they lay back and just chug like a freight train.

Most bands only sound this raw on their first album. Kudos to Kylesa for keeping it real, so to speak. After sampling 'Unspoken,' it was most certainly a go.
