Point of Faith - Aeone

Very spiritual album, very goddess oriented. You don't have to be into celtic spirituality to enjoy this album. Aeone's powerful soprano voice is truly special. Utterly beautiful and ethereal music effects, thoughtful and emotional lyrics. I originally bought this to use during Moon Circles, but I find I enjoy listening to it on my own. "One Tribe" is particularly energizing, as fun as anything on the radio today.

Very Good Album

This is a very good album though of the three full album releases from Aeone I personally find it to be the weakest. It is only because it lacks the standout songs like The Women's Touch or Then We Dance that it suffers in comparison. If you like New Age this should be a great acquisition for your library. My personal favorites from the album were Umbra Nihili, Come Away and The Waterdance.

Aeone's Point of Faith is a real gift

I was first introduced to Aeone's music thru this recording. I am delighted because otherwise I might have missed out on her most beautiful work. Aeone has a gift for writing very personal songs that can speak to all people. The music on this record is at once ethereal, sensual, deeply religious and strangely haunting. My soul was stirred and I often found myself shedding tears. The songs bring to mind recollections of the past while encouraging one to look forward with hope. In that way, it is an inspiring album; I have never been so moved by anything else. The music itself is multi-layered, otherworldly, angelic - as if the artist were channeling a lost spirit during the recording of the songs. The album begins with "One Tribe", a call to all people to focus on what unites us, not divides us. The title track is almost like a prayer of confession that ends in self-affirmation: the realization that, although one has made mistakes, there is faith in God to help and carry on. The remainder of the album is a beautiful series of songs and vocalizations honouring spirits, the Earth Mother, and deceased loved ones. "I Will Remember You Still" is a particularly poignant memorial that was included on the "Mists of Avalon" soundtrack. The final tune "The Calling" is from the point of view of one who yearns for her homeland, and in her last days yields to the beckoning call of the ancestor waiting on the distant shore. It is dedicated to the artist's own mother. Aeone has released other records; but in my view, the other albums are "just songs" and are somehow lacking the depth of "Point of Faith". This is her finest, her most personal music. It is almost as if she has bared her very soul and shared her self-discoveries with us. To touch another person's heart with music is truly a gift.
