iTunes Review

This southern family band — siblings Natalie, Stacey, Isaaca, and Jeremy Byrd with cousin Brittany Painter on lead vocals and guitar — pull together a pop-rock-folk-country sound that draws its influence from a variety of obvious and obscure points of reference. The tight, flowing harmonies on this debut album recall Fleetwood Mac and Crosby, Stills and Nash, while the songwriting ranges from traditional pop (“All the Words”) to the askew piano drama of a Fiona Apple type chanteuse (“Blue”). Produced by alternative pop veteran Matthew Sweet with an emphasis on their vocal graces, the Bridges use their southern charm — North Carolina to Alabama — to put listeners in the easy chair, ready to recline with these effortless, lush pop confections. The constant vocal motion behind “Echo” displays the quintet’s musical sophistication without losing the simple melodic thread. They’re such natural, intuitive singers that they can’t help but sound smooth and polished. “Finding It Hard,” “Pieces,” and “Under the Sun” naturally shade towards easy listening. The Bridges are surprisingly mature for such a young group.

A Must-Buy!

The Bridges debut album has an amazing variety of musical talent combined with the fresh sound you hear live. I would recommend this album to anybody because it's captured sounds for everybody. In their songs like "Happy In Love" and "Pieces," you can hear perfect harmonies that are reminiscent of many great bands from the 60s and 70s. Buy the album and hear for yourself!

Unbelievable. Seriously.

I honestly cannot say enough about this record. The Bridges have an incredibly unique sound, the likes of which you don't hear much these days; the best way I could describe them is a modernized Fleetwood Mac. "Limits of the Sky" is the perfect blend of happy, driving-with-the-windows down, summery music and mellow, having-a-cup-of-coffee-on-a-rainy-day music. Lead singer Brittany Painter's voice is fantastic, and the harmonies that accompany it throughout every song are flawless. No words would do this album justice--they're an unbelievable band who have put out an unbelievable first record.

I love this album! It's lots of fun and perfect for the summer. They have a great sound!
