Legit Messianics? Yep. Legit MC's? Yep. Smack-a-licious? Yes. Yes, indeed...

As a Jewish believer I have to say that there isn't a lot of music out in the Messianic community that moves me. Most messianic music out there is meant for my parents generation: Lamb, Paul Wilbur, Liberated Wailing Wall, etc... There is a real lack of music for the younger in the movement. There are only a couple of Messianic artists out there really trying to push the movement musically to new frontiers (Netzer and Hazakim are a couple)… I mean where does a 30-something messianic who loves Tribe Called Quest, Arrested Development, L.L. Cool J., Beastie Boys, etc. go for good quality beats and the glorification of Mashiach ben David? Hazakim... Really there isn't a whole bunch of competition out there in the Messianic world (is there even another Messianic Hip Hop Group?) - but it doesn't matter. The more I listen to this album, the more I am impressed. There are quality beats here, and a depth of rhyme that you don't often see in the hip hop world... in fact one of my favorite tracks, Uncut and Raw, has Hazakim lamenting the same shallow life of hip hop. They reject the shallow world of the obligatory 808 and krunk hi-hat and throw in some crazy samples of liturgical chant glorifying God... good stuff! There are real gems here including one of my favorites, Brace Yourself. It seems to me that every time Hazakim does three things they come up winners: 1)When they delve deep into the record bin for the roots of sampled traditional Jewish melodies… 2)When they layer that with their own razor sharp rhyming (seriously! spittin' some crazy fast lyrics at times)… 3)When they add a minimalist breaks, stuttering beats, and some fun scratchin and ryhmin’… Yes. They come up winners. And you will too when you buy this album... Why not 5 stars? Not every track is a winner... the overly theatrical Intro and Outro don't really work for me, and I can't give 4 and 1/2 stars. 5 stars to me is perfect. And even though they are legit Messianic, and Legit MC's - I don't quite agree that it is perfect... -Ruby

Dont believe what these trendy people say. This album, and everything lampmode, is dope. Duece Five sounds like he expected more of the same predicatable rap and was dissapointed because lampmode artists dont use the same formula that every other christian rapper knocking of strip club musik is doin. How can I enjoy listening to these radio rappers when all their musik sounds the same? I love ingenuity (something missing from rap today). Dopeness...

The Jewish Perspective

For the HHH world this is a major release. Often we are not able to see God from the perspective of a true Judeo-Christian so this release is a breath of fresh air. I am excited for these brother's because they have the ability to show us the heart of God from the Jewish perspective. Keep them in prayer and COPE this project!!!
