Great album

This album is a representation of everything Finland's Amorphis has put out from their first album until now. They have incorporated just about everything off of every album, from middle eastern influences, (Death of a King), prog, (Sacrifice) melodic death, (Bad Blood) melodic doom (Tree of Ages) and heavy metal with some jazz thrown in. They even incorporated some female vocals. (White Night) This is a versatile band with almost limitless talent. They work hard, release an album every 2 to 3 years and tour pretty extensively. So it's impressive that they can keep releasing solid material on a consistent basis. If you like their past work, it's a no brainer that you will like most of this album. This is Finnish metal at it's best.

Yeah buddy

Been a fan since the 90s. Circle didn't really do it for me but this album certainly made up for it. Anytime I've played Amorphis for someone who's never been exposed to their grandeur and usually get a reply "who is this... This is awesome" and boom! Instant fan. Anyone with tastes for hard rock, power metal, death metal, prog rock/metal, and even folk music should definitely give this band a listen. Thank you Amorphis for another great release.

Amorphis … stands the test of time

After all these years, this band still brings it … true to their name, they are always evolving their sound … but … they are still instantly identifiable … Almost 20 years ago i took a chance and purchased Elegy … and … I have pre-ordered every album since … now … I need the 2 missing tracks from this session … The Wind (Japanese Bonus) and Evertime I Die (Children of Bodom cover)
