I just want to find my way deep in your heart

This amazing album has constantly been on repeat since I bought it three days ago. It is relaxing, but upbeat (some songs, anyway) at the same time. Holly Conlan's voice is very soothing and fits the style of her songs perfectly (okay, it also sounds VERY similar to Sara Bareilles' voice...), and she has impressive voice control. She displays a large range of emotions in these ten songs, from in love to heartbroken to angry, and at the same time she manages to sound alternately sexy or sarcastic, and the lyrics are deep and meaningful, not just the mindless trash we are hearing these days. Another added bonus is her piano-playing. The first time I listened to this, I could not predict the next chord coming, as Conlan manages to modulate briefly into different keys while singing in the same key without making it sound contrived or off. This is one of the many things that sets her apart from other "girls with pianos." I also love how she switches tempos in almost all of her songs from verse to chorus. I am so glad that one of her songs was the single of the week, as I would never have found Holly Conlan on my own, which is sad, since this girl deserves to have her beautiful music heard! Way to go, Holly, and I will be eagerly awaiting more of your music! Recommended songs: There Is a Time Without You Here Why I'm Here Train Song :) Under Your Skin

It always breaks my heart when such a talented artist like Holly Conlan seems to have no recognition. So, I happily give this CD stars, she sounds like a contemporary Judy Garland to me and I can't stop playing There Is a Time over and over because it is so beautiful.

Such a talent. Every song is simply gorgeous and her voice is the perfect complement to her keyboard playing. I wish singer/ songwriters like Ms. Conlan would receive more promotion and recognition, rather than the manufactured bands pushed upon us by labels that style them and pay for their songs to be written for them. Support someone who truly deserves it and is a true artist.

Before becoming a major player in L.A.'s Hotel Cafe scene, singer/songwriter Holly Conlan spent her childhood writing music on the family piano. Her father was a classical composer, and Conlan grew up under his influence, mixing her own interests in pop, rock, and folk with a proper classical music education. By 2005, she'd boiled down her influences to a sprightly, piano-based pop sound, which she introduced on her self-titled debut album. The Bird EP followed in 2008, coinciding with Conlan's unofficial...
