Album Review

Quiet, rocking demo with strong passion, containing members of Hot Water Music. Although the influence can be heard, this album is refreshing, it's different from HWM — much more laid back and pretty sounding. The vocals are extremely powerful — delicate but with a rough edge that stands out from other bands. A viola and synthesizer also add beautiful orchestration on some of the songs. This would be much appreciated by fans of Christie Front Drive, Mineral and other such straightforward rocking bands.

remember when "emo" actually meant "emotional"?

yeah, me too. this record is an amazing example of what music meant back in the day before emotion was a fully classified genre, and when you actually had to go to shows and talk to people to find out about music worth listening to (aka, pre-myspace). i highly reccomend listening to this in your pj's, with a big ol' bottle of merlot on hand - because believe me, it's going to give you the warm fuzzies. one of many gems to be dug up when looking back through no idea's (extensive) collection of outstanding music. an absolute must have for fans of christie front drive, old mineral (slash the gloria record), i hate myself, etc. you won't be disappointed!

great album

Like others have noted, this album was truly greatness for it's time. I only deduct a star because the recording quality (like most early HWM stuff) is very lo-fi. Songs are beautiful though.
