Ratings and Reviews
This is one of my favorite songs that i've ever heard, if not my absolute favorite. In a college English class that I took a year ago, my professor gave us a paper to write about a song. A few months before that, I had seen the video for this song, which iTunes used to offer, and when I saw the video, i started to read up and writing the paper for my class, I knew that there was no other song I would write about. I could have easily written about Springsteen cause we're from the same town and I know a lot about him, but this song was so much better with an amazing history. Before my professor gave me my paper back with the grade, he asked me if he could make copies of the paper to show future students because of the amazing story and to show his students exactly what he was looking for. I love Damien Rice!
You will be moved
This song stands alone as a great piece, however when you read the reason it was written you will be touched. A song written for an amazing person, Aung San Suu Kyi, by someone who is making real difference in this world.
a moving plea for democracy and emotionally inspiring

rice trades the guitar for the piano and never misses a beat. his song is simple and moving; just like his dedication to kyi's principled choice to fight for democracy in burma. his song inspires the listener to enjoy the simple beauty in freedom, something kyi does not have.
this is powerful music.
