Minus vocals!

Make a copy of the album without the vocals and I'll buy it.

Gavin: sick drummer, Vocals: meh

I was jazzed when I heard the opening few bars of this album. As the title says, Gavin is such a versatile and aggressive drummer, and the melodies are unusually cool, but not over-the-top. But then, the vocals....oh boy.....seriously? It appears someone dubbed a karaoke lounge singer over an otherwise killer instrumental album. Is he the producer's broke younger brother or something? Too bad. Ah well. I think it's still worth the $9.81, if only for the drums and bass.

Someone to watch

Gavin is slowly coming into his own. Having manned the skins for Porcupine Tree, he is soon to be embarking on a journey with a new incarnation of King Crimson. As far as Drop, the music is light and fresh. The vocals are both interesting and somewhat out of place at times. The vocalist sounds like a mix between David Sylvian and John Wetton (which is not such a bad thing). A worthy journey that speaks more about what is to come....
