blink is back and better than ever!

I have been waiting for record for almost six years ever since they went on hiatus. and now, it's finally here. I think that this is a great record, and is a good follow-up to their self-titled album. many people, who are so-called "fans," are going to disagree and want the old blink music, but the fact is that blink is back together and that they are picking up right where they left off. this album has a good mix of what all three members have done in the careers thus far (i.e. Angels & Airwaves, +44, Box Car Racer, and even Give the Drummer Some). so peeps, just give this album a chance and listen to the progression this band has made within their near 20 year legacy. "like" if you agree.

Not what I was expecting...

Sorrry this sounds nothing like the Blink I've grown to love.. No good fast up beat songs... I know people mature and I'm all for changing their sound, I just don't like it. It doesnt have that characteristic Blink sound we all know and love.

I can tell they did their own thing and didn't try to go mainstream. Props to them for doing what they like. It's just not my thing. You gotta respect that..

Does Neighborhoods live up to all the expectations?

Yes, It sure does. Simply put, Neighborhoods is the child of AVA and +44, with not a ton of resemblance to the Blink 182 of old. For those of us that have been following the progression of this album, this should not come as a surprise. Songs like Hearts all Gone pull us back to the "take off your pants and jacket" days, but the vast majority of songs here resemble heavy influences from each band member's side project. I LOVE it!!!! The lyrics are by far the darkest lyrics Blink 182 has ever done, ever. Almost every song here mentions death in our way or another, but because of the generally poppy feel to the music, it falls lightly enough to not send the listener into a whirl of depression. Its absolutely the perfect blend of rock, pop and punk...and an almost auto-biographal tale of raw emotion.

Blink, I don't think I could have asked for a better comeback album then this. Thank you SO MUCH!!! The world needed to hear you guys again....i know i needed to!

The new-school punk trio blink-182 were formed in the suburbs of San Diego, California around guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge, bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus, and drummer Scott Raynor.
