iTunes Editors’ Notes

Kip Moore’s smooth, slightly raspy, Southern-inflected vocals color his rocking debut album, Up All Night. The Georgia-born, Nashville-based country singer/songwriter displays a penchant for vivid storytelling from the jump as he turns his attention toward universal themes of young love (“Drive Me Crazy”), cutting loose (“Beer Money”), and celebrating life’s simple things (“Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck”). Some tunes here have a touch of twang, yet many could also be filed under alt-rock. Regardless of genre, Moore creates compelling compositions about wooing a special woman and seizing the day (and night), especially on the emotionally stirring title track and the heart-on-his-sleeve closer, “Faith When I Fall.”

Excellent debut album! Lots of layers in the music that accompanies his grainy voice, which has a touch of Mellencamp and Dylan along with solid lyrics.

So glad this CD is finally out! Perfect summertime album. Love it.

Moore was born in Tifton, Georgia, near the Florida line, the son of a golf pro and a painter, and he grew up listening to Jackson Browne, Willie Nelson,...
