Who are they? I don’t know but I pre-ordered the album.
I honestly couldn’t believe what I was hearing. “I can’t control myself” hits you with a relentless flow of amazing 80’s style pop rock. I am very lucky to have discovered them this morning.

Reserving Judgment but...

I pre-ordered this because of the Minor Times/Once an Ocean single. That single was AWESOME and the previous release was really good too, but these first three tracks are awfully heavy on the 80's pop and lighter on the funk. That blend was what made their first 6 tracks so cool. I'm hoping the rest of the album has some worthwhile tracks in that vein.

About time...

...a great band comes up in this thrash-recycled-electronic-no instrument-music scene. These guys take my back, and forward to what great songs are about: The feel. The vibe. The melody. The lyrics. The music.

Strange Names are a Brooklyn-based indie pop trio with a rhythmic, synth-heavy, new wave-inspired sound.
