Best Scale the Summit release thus far!

I don't normally review music as it's all as subjective as someone's favorite color, but for Scale the Summit's "V" I had to. With this album, STS proves that they can still continue to keep things fresh while still retaining their classic "adventure metal" sound. All of the familiarity is there, but it's kept intriguing with the addition of acoustics, new effects, different delays, and a great sense of flow between each of the tracks that really tells a grand story. The production quality is excellent as always; the bass cuts through the mix excellently (thanks in part to Mark Michell's excellent style and playing that no one else could bring to STS), and every instrument shares the spotlight equally. These guys know how to blend well. Also, the new addition of J.C. Bryant on drums is worthy of praise as the transition to a new drummer is both smooth and mixes together perfectly. Chris and Travis shred on this album more than ever before and it's excellent! This is their fastest and heaviest release to date!

Overall, "V" is an excellent effort and a brave endeavor for an instrumental band in a world where vocal albums dominate and it's difficult to really stand out as an instrumental group. STS are professionals at what they do and they really keep their sound moving forward. This is a highly recommended album! Stop sifting through reviews and buy this now!

Another solid release

To be honest, when I first put on this album I did not have high expectations. I thought to myself "how can a band that has consistently put out such solid records do it again. This one will probably fall" I was wrong. This album went far and beyond my expectations. The musicianship between this 4 piece instrumental act hailing from Austin, Texas is phenomenal. Really enjoying this album more and more with each listen. i highly recommend this.

This album is absolutely amazing. Everything that Scale the Summit is. Heavy rocking riffs with, of course, melodic tapping riffs. 10/10 would buy again.
