Good overview of recent efforts

Nils has been around for more than 30 years. This best of collection surveys his more recent work from his albums, "Silver Lining," "Crooked Line," and "Acoustic Live," as well as some previously unavailable live tracks and demos. Nils, himself, selected the songs for inclusion on this disc, so I am reluctant to critique his choices. However, I would have included "Just A Little" from his album "Crooked Line" which is a phenomenal song. Even so, this sampler is a good introduction to his recent work and should provide listeners with an incentive to get the original discs and all the great music therein.

Nil's BEST song

Great news...This CD has the best studio version of Nil's best song, "Walkin' Nerve". Download this immediately!

What about "Sticks and Stones"?

Too bad Itunes doesn't have the Silver Lining album available, which includes "Sticks and Stones," a song I'm surprised Nils didn't include on this collection. Yes, you can get the acoustic version elsewhere on Itunes, but you just have to have that searing electric guitar, trust me! Oh and if you don't have it, download "Valentine" immediately. That's one I can never play without hitting the repeat button.

Biography

Born: June 21, 1951 in Chicago, IL

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

For much of his professional rock & roll career, Nils Lofgren has been known as the lead guitarist for Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band — the guy who replaced Steven Van Zandt in 1984 and stayed on after Little Steven returned to the fold. Prior to the E-Street Band, Lofgren was a member of Neil Young's backing band Crazy Horse, and these associations have tended to dominate any mention of the guitarist's career, as any support for two legendary singer/songwriters would. But take away...
