EDITORS’ NOTES

The renowned soprano embraces staples from the verismo works of Verdi, Puccini, and more in this affectionate study of the immortal Italian realism style. Her performance of Giordano’s “La mamma morta” is somber and impassioned, and reinforces why she is one of the most compelling sopranos in the industry.

All of Act IV of Manon Lescaut! Verdi?

Fantastic album! Very excited that all of act IV of Manon Lescaut is on here. "Sei tu che piangi" was so well done (the high C's were great, not always achieved elsewhere!).
But iTunes, when did Verdi become a Verismo composer? (Afuerte, see iTunes review, it's quite obvious that Verdi's not on the album, and why should he, he wasn't a composer of the verismo style, my point, duh!) He was a precursor for the genre, but just because he was still alive to hear Puccini doesn't make, say, Aïda Verismo! iTunes once again fails at understanding our rich musical history...

Hmmm

There is NO Verdi on this recording like the moron said above me. Obviously some opera literature is needing to be reinforced to the fella. Simply the best! Anna has come a long way and I am so excited to hear this album!
