Reseña de álbum

The Ink Spots hit the American Top Ten 19 times between 1939 and 1949; 13 of those Top Ten hits are among the 16 tracks on this British budget compilation, its contents licensed from MCA Records, which controls the Decca Records catalog, including the group's original recordings. Some of their biggest hits are missing, and there are covers of the standards "I'll Never Smile Again," "It's a Sin to Tell a Lie," and "I Cover the Waterfront" that were hits, but not for them. The result is a good sampling of the Ink Spots' most successful work that doesn't quite live up to the title.

Great

I love that your putting old music on iTunes. Keep up the good work Whippersnappers!

Really great melodies

Despite the really cheesy, Hall Mark style repackaging, this is a cool collection.
There is a reason why many jazz artists cover those melodies. They are superb.
There is also a hipster/viper vibe (though somewhat cleaned up and very radio friendly) in some of the hot swing tunes, something you will not guess from the cover. Pre-Coaster Vaudeville humor, slangish poetry, pre DooWop harmonies, you get rich, vibrant timeless musical joy, a whole lot more than "Nostalgic memories".
