Solid Effort

For those fans of Halestorm that are critical of this record, make sure to listen and open your mind. If a band doesn't change they are often criticized for all their songs sounding the same. When they do change, they are criticized for the music straying too far from their past sound. As I have gotten older I have learned to relax and not make a quick judgment, especially from a band that I consider myself a fan of. It sounds like a few people are Uncomfortable with the musical style or lyrics; however, I find this to be their second best album since Strange Case. For those that gave it three stars or less, take another listen and I think you will be glad that you did.

Remember when Halestorm used to rock?

Very talented band, but this album is awful. No longer a rock band, now they are cheesy mainstream pop act.

Their Worst Album Yet

Halestorm is a great band full of very talented musicians. They have the potential to create an absolutely fantastic album, such as the self-titled or "The Strange Case Of...". They didn't do that with this new album, "Vicious". The lyrics were overly repetitive, every other song was about sex or the like, and it was just a general snooze fest, at least for me. The first 2 songs, "Black Vultures" and "Skulls" were good, and "Killing Ourselves To Live" was okay, but the rest of the album was a major disappointment. I really, really wanted to like it, considering how underwhelmed I was by "Into The Wildlife", but I just can't. I don't see myself purchasing this album. Sorry, Halestorm, but you guys and girl are a LOT better than this. Pass.
