Of the thousands of sacred classics in my collection I find my self often returning to these sublime lamentations offering peaceful tranquility to my spirit which soars to new heights of contemplation. This music can be compared to the Jesus Prayer of the Eastern Church which seams at first almost to simple to lead one to the heights of contemplation, but the Saints have proven different. So, too, these lamentations, which like Victoria's Requiem are straight forward and not complex, yet seemingly posses the ability to lift the soul, if ready, to an encounter with "The Man of Sorrows", JESUS, the Divine Bridegroom of our Souls.

The Tallis Scholars have become one of the leading a cappella choral groups in the world, specializing in Renaissance sacred music.
