A flawless performance. Suwanai is a virtuoso seen once in a generation. Perfect technique graced with the gift of emotional expression through her performance. Warmth, wistfulness, energy and compassion... This is absolutely the best money I have spent on ITMS.
As always, (for me) Violin is the window to the soul
I greatly enjoyed this album. I am not very wordy, but when I reserve time for for myself and I play this album, it makes me feel so very happy and good. Maybe this isn't a very good review, but...tell me. How did your first kiss make you feel? Quantify it here. I like this album. I really reccomend it.
I've heard so many artists play these same Bach concerti before and Akiko Suwanai has struck me the most. A unique style she certainly has and also a unique sense of feeling for Bach's music, I'm very sure. She has very well blended elegance and gentleness with extremely structural music, which Bach has always been famous for. And this, I daresay, very few artists can achieve. Together with the Stradivarius "Dolphin" 1714, one of the top three violins made by Stradivarius, Akiko Suwanai has certainly brought a very new way of interpretation to Bach's music.
