Album Review

When you announce publicly that your music is modeled after another group's, you're setting yourself up for disaster. And, when the group you aspire to mimic is one of the most critically lauded underground acts of the past 15 years, you might as well write your own bad reviews. The bad news is that Bigdumbface's Duke Lion Fights the Terror is the epitome of a mediocre Ween rip-off. The good news is that Bigdumbface doesn't seem to care. Even though they've stolen everything from Ween's silly voices to their droves of mock country licks, they seem to be having just as much fun as the real McCoy. There's hardly anything, lyrically or conceptually, in Duke Lion that could be pegged as anything beyond an elaborately produced inside joke (or a joke that no one gets at all), but the enthusiasm and playfulness are still contagious. If the album isn't an accomplished work of art, it's not a pretentious one either. From that angle, there are many 15-year-old Limp Bizkit fans who may find it something revolutionary.

Loved It!

I love this CD! If Blood Red Head didn't have the 56 second wait before the words came than that would have been just enough for a 5...! I like most of the songs but thats still good enough for me to give this a good rating. ...DUKE LION LIVES ON!... ...in our hearts...

you have no clue!

this album is about what music should be. FUN. he wrote this album as a means to let out stress. now everyone like this reviewer is more worried about sales. the album is funny, makes me laugh, and reminds me, that "thank god, he is more worried about having fun, than impressing you people"

Dont be a hoser Ay

Biography

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s

When he's not wearing skeleton face makeup alongside Fred Durst in the more-macho-than-thou Limp Bizkit, Wes Borland tends to prefer a more subdued, playful brand of music. Big Dumb Face, which consists of him, his brother, and a group of pre-Limp Bizkit friends, reveals this softer, geekier side. And, because Limp Bizkit has been one of the most popular bands of the late '90s and beyond, this side project's debut has garnered much attention and a major label deal. The group's first LP, Duke Lion...
