yo shwayze's mad nice. somebody give me a thumbs up on that, show me im not alone.

I'm all for artists growing or trying to make money, but I really liked their relaxing chilled out beach vibes which are almost non-existant on thier new album. Maybe it'll grow after a few more listens, but it's a shame they went away from the formula that worked so well on their first album.

Just Not the Shwayze I Once Knew...

I've been with Shwayze since the begining, before Buzzin' hit it big and so on and so forth. I have so many good memories tied to songs like Dance in the Sand, and the "Kanye" version of Lazy Susan.

That being said, I just can't support this new direction for Shwayze. It sounds like some record label came in and said "we need radio hits, we need party music!" And sadly, the sound of this new album reflects that, and also sad is the fact that I used to bump Shwayze and the Rich Girls Mixtape at parties all the time. Cisco keeps saying "here's one for everyone who says we switched up our style" in reference to Sally is a... Well, that alone proves the fact that they have switched up their style. He even said it at a concert "Ya'll like our funky new stuff?" and my answer is, no, I liked your "old stuff", the lazy days is Los Angeles, and Hit It. Sure, some songs have an echo of the golden days, like Perfect for Me, and Crazy For You, but songs like Maneatrr.....why?!

I'd probably like this music if I knew it wasn't Shwayze, because this is sadly below his original level. Maybe it was the departure of the amazing DJ Skeet Skeet, but this just isn't as good.

Although the Jamie Kennedy movie Malibu's Most Wanted posited that the beachside Los Angeles suburb is so upper class and lily white that the only rappers it can produce are rich teenagers fronting gangsta poses, real-life Malibu resident Shwayze begs to differ. He's in touch enough with movie culture that his handle is a corruption of the surname of the star of Dirty Dancing and Roadhouse, and his musical mentor is Cisco Adler, son of multi-millionaire record producer Lou Adler, most notorious for...
