iTunes Editors’ Notes

The Tennessee-based duo All Sons & Daughters bring a simplicity and grace to worship music. Their second EP, Reason to Sing, builds on the strengths of their debut, with songs that find God’s glory amid moments of suffering and doubt. Members Leslie Jordan and David Leonard blend their voices in praise, accompanied by sparsely atmospheric settings built on acoustic guitar, piano, and synths. The songs here are presented with confessional intimacy, making their words of devotion all the more powerful. Reason to Sing’s title track sets the EP’s tone with its acknowledgement of spiritual weakness and gratitude for salvation. All Sons & Daughters’ affinity for country and folk sounds comes through in “Oh Our Lord” and “Buried in the Grave,” while “Spirit Speaks” and “All Praise to You” enhance their modern pop sounds with a classical tinge. The yearning “Wake Up” builds from a stark opening into a full-throated anthem of reverence. Produced by Paul Mabury (Hillsong United, One Sonic Society), Reason to Sing is a worship project that avoids overkill in favor of honest testimony.

Customer Reviews

Great Work

All Sons and Daughters continue to put out intelligent and thoughtful music. I am really enjoying their work. In a market saturated with much of the same stuff it's refreshing to hear something different. Keep up the work.

Heartcry

What worship should be.

Unique, courageous, and inspiring

This is some of the best Worship music I've heard in years. It's not just different from what everyone else is doing musically, but lyrically too. It just seems honest. It's not that other bands are writing dishonest lyrics, but I get the vibe, the feeling that these words are coming from a different place. More from the place of, We are broken, we hurt, but God is still sovereign, God still uses us for his glory. I am inspired and I have hope this morning as I write this, not just because of this music, but because of what the Holy Spirit stirred in me this morning as listened to it on my 6 minute drive into work. I should have just kept driving ; ) God Bless you guys. Terrific Work!
