My favorite

Ok, I admit I liked Rick in the 80s but I tried to hide it cause I was a guy and I perceived him as an artist women liked. Didn't stop me from buying living in Oz and Hard to Hold but I kept them in my car (ahhh cassettes). Tao changed all that. I was working in a record store when it came out (Camelot records - where did you go???) and I was blown away. It had a different sound than anything I had heard before. Even the videos were cool. I loved this CD and still listen to it frequently. Rock of life sealed the deal for me that Springfield was legit. Favorite tunes were the singles but all were good. Bit of strange trivia, An italian horror movie (I think Demons) would use the beginning instrumental piece of "walking on the edge" several times in the film ... always struck me as a bit odd but cool. Buy this!

Rick's Best

Out of all of his music, this was the one album that really felt like it came from the soul. I never tire of hearing this album over the years.

Great summer

I got this on tape from my girlfriend in the late summer of 1985. First year of college.... I love this album. Definitely a commercial LP but it is clearly an album from his soul. I have seen RS 3 times live and would see him again. Still have the tape and still keep in touch with my old girlfriend. Hey LD!!!

Although Rick Springfield's music was frequently dismissed as vapid teen idol fare, his best moments have actually withstood the test of time far better than most critics would ever have imagined, emerging as some of the best-crafted mainstream power pop of the 1980s. A singer turned soap opera star turned singer, Springfield was born Richard Springthorpe on August 23, 1949, in Sydney, Australia, to a military man; the family moved around Australia and England a great deal during Rick's childhood,...
