Over produced

I'm lost on this one. Sorry Amos. There is so much glossy instrumentation that the music has lost its soul. Slick drums, strings and horns and hardly any guitar. Where is Amos? The repetitive lyrics and scat singing don't do it any favors either. The song writing isn't strong. The band sounds like a backing band on a late night talk show in the 80's. I'll skip this tour even though I've caught the last two. Looking forward to the next album or a Spirit Unplugged.

Another great one!!!

So far I've loved everything I've purchased from Amos, and I have to say every album has its own distinct personality. This one is no different. The one thing that is a stand out about this record and I can't believe it is the bass playing. I usually love Amos' voice and songwriting. This album is no different in that regard but the bass playing, and rhythm section overall, are just phenomenal on this record. I've never heard of Adam Blackstone before this record but man if you're reading this...you're a monster!!! Kudos to Amos for getting this guy on his recording.

Playing on repeat

This album is one you can put on and let play the whole way through. It is full of beautiful, soulful songs. I highly recommend it!
