New Tracks, Going In Right Direction
Over the years the Official albums have been ok selections of the same songs over and over again. This year, besides being on iTunes for the first time, have included many new and rare tracks. And by far the most promising addition is the inclusion of the COMPLETE audio from the newest version of Spaceship Earth.
Brings me back into the park if I close my eyes and listen!!! 👍
NEW AUDIO IS MISSING
Okay, before I start this review, I must tell you: I AM A DISNEY NUT. I KNOW THE ATTRACTIONS INSIDE & OUT, & THE AUDIO THEY USE.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let's get on with this review. I hate to even give this review 1 star. I wish I could give it -infinite. Why? I've owned several of their "official albums" that they've released throughout the years, starting with the kiosks in the parks. They all usually include mixes that contain audio from the rides. Well, after about over a decade of updates & releasing the same mix over & over, you'd think they'd add the new audio right? As Lex Luthor once said "WRONG!". Randy Thornton, the man responsible for releasing all their albums, has failed this big time. To fully understand what's wrong, I need to give you a small history lesson.
In 2007, The Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World underwent an extensive renovation. Naturally, audio played a large part in this refurbishment. In it, new singers/vocals were installed in the graveyard scene, & the old ones (still in use at Tokyo Disneyland & Disneyland) were removed. They've never been leaked as good-quality copies to me or the rest of the Disney community, & Disney still has yet to do a proper release with them on there.
I strongly encourage, unless you don't have a copy of one of the official albums yet, to boycott this CD. There is no point in buying mixes you've already heard before.
