I Just Found Out About Daisy, and I Love Her!

Daisy Chute has a voice and talent that belie her age. Her voice is fresh and clear, and her phrasing and interpretation, are appropriate for each song. Jazz, what a genre for a young woman to tackle! Daisy does it with style and class. Normally I have one or two favorite tracks on any given CD, but every song on “Simply Jazz” CD is worth a listen. From the light, bright “If I Were a Bell” to the subdued “Blackberry Winter,” each track is a pleasure; and “I Just Found Out About Love” starts it all off with a bang! I can’t wait for Daisy’s next offering. “Simply Jazz” is an incredible first effort!

reminds me of a young billie holiday

Daisy: Thanks for brightening up my day. After years of struggling to accept "credible" versions of jazz standards, such as Miles Davis's "If I Were a Bell" or Chet Baker's "Little Girl Blue", you have proven that tunes don't "belong" to artists, but rather the artists "belong" to the tunes. Not only that, but you have also taken all the wrong notes and mess ups from those so-called "definitive" versions, and finally documented a correct performance of these beautiful songs. Thank you for restoring my faith in music, and in jazz in particular. Not since Hans Groiner plays Thelonious Monk have I heard such wonderful renditions of jazz standards! (not bad company to be in, girl!) Can't wait for the next album!

who is this girl? & why did she just record some of the best jazz standards in the worst possible ways known to man? please someone tell this girl that no fourteen year-old scottish musical theatre girl should try to sing jazz. whoever told this girl that shes good is obviously DEAF.
