iTunes Review

The Nashville supergroup teams up with Pharrell for this year’s most unexpectedly infectious album.

Customer Reviews

The title of the piece says it all. They are using their artistic freedom to explore some new sounds. Since this is 8 tracks as well, this obviously isn't a follow-up record to Painkiller. Rather it is the band taking some liberties to work with Pharrell and "wander" into new territory. Is it everyone's proverbial "cup of tea"? No... But it is absolutely LBT's right to explore, to dance... to wander. The freedom and release of that experience is exciting at the very least.

this is not the little big town I know and love.
what happened to the gorgeous harmonies and country roots?

Really disappointed

I truly love and respect this band. I saw they had a new album and was excited to preview the tracks. It was confusing, I thought I had mistakenly clicked the wrong band and wrong genre. So far removed from what makes them unique and draws me to them, their harmonies, and i am a country fan, not a disco fan. I can't listen to more than 10 seconds of any song preview. I tried each one hoping I could connect on any level. This band has serious talent, amazing vocals, and whoever advised them to go this direction should not be listened to in the future. I think what your fans are truly trying to say is this: we are country, not disco/pop we love your vocals that set you apart from other groups, could you not explore creatively while still keeping that somehow? At least if your goal was to make any money or have your fans like it. Otherwise why even release it? Music is art. I get that. If this was only to please yourselves, just make the album and keep the tracks private? I hope you are all able to take the criticism headed your way with love, I can't imagine hearing any of these on any country station. They just aren't country, they belong on a 70's disco station. Looking forward to your next album.

Formed: 1998 in Nashville, TN

Genre: Country

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Country vocal quartet Little Big Town began with Kimberly Roads and Karen Fairchild, two Georgia natives who began singing together in college. Arkansas-born and Alabama-raised Jimi Westbrook, a friend of Fairchild's husband, joined them to make a trio, and the group was completed by the addition of Arkansan Phil Sweet in 1998. From the outset, Little Big Town devoted their sound to harmony and multiple lead vocals, a combination that made the band a hard sell at first. They finally landed a deal...
