22 Songs, 1 Hour 16 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Each of the 22 songs here was carefully culled from the original master tape reels and every band-defining song is included. You get the The Animals' early- to mid-’60s R&B hits, from the pop-blues of “House of the Rising Sun” and “I’m Crying” to the Brill Building classics “It’s My Life” and “We Gotta Get Out of This Place.” The set then journeys from England to Northern California after frontman Eric Burdon had reinvented the combo in time for the Summer of Love.

The Animals are LEGENDARY

First off, classic rock lovers: pick this album up. The Animals helped start the genre, so anyone who likes the spin offs check this stuff out. Personally, I bought a few tracks, and then I got the album. My favorites: House of the Rising Sun, We Gotta Get Out Of This Place, Boom Boom, Hey Gyp, Sky Pilot, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, and the BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM is with out a doubt 'SPILL THE WINE.' If you dig the Doors, you'll dig this.

Hope this helps... later.

The best of the best of the best, & above the rest.

Nothing gets my heart beating, my brain flowing, and self assurance rising harder than this. I can't listen to this music enough. Be sure to get the Best of Eric Burdon album as well. If you skateboard, gladiate, or pirate, this is going to be essential for you to soothe your soul, be a human being again, and help your cells rebuild with fortitude and vengeance for your next encounter with empty swimming pools, a fight with a Hun vs. a hyaena, or a land invasion of Port au Prince Haiti in 1788. I'm not joking, these aren't parlour games here, I'm quite serious. If you are a mercenary with a compassionate soul, or mongol marksman, you are in the most fervent need of this aural companion, the twitchy hands will go away, I know.

Chill on Spill the Wine

I, too, am a huge Animals fan, and this album is terrific. But people, chill on Spill the Wine being album only. If you are a true Eric Burdon fan, you would realize that none of WAR's songs are on iTunes. My guess is that there is some rights hang up keeping them off. Spill the Wine was done with WAR (written by Eric while he was still with them), and they are credited. My assumption is that is the reason it is album purchase only. So buck up and buy the whole darned thing - you'll feel better that you did
