Good start for Innocence Mission

Probably Innocence Mission's most accessible album for people who are not used to their folk lullaby music. Track 9, "Colors of the World" is hauntingly beautiful. Track 5, "Lake Shore Drive" feels like meeting a long-lost cousin. Track 9, "A Wave is Rolling" is a good song for moving on.

Sweet and hypnotic

It's a strange fact that the first Innocence Mission album you hear will more than likely be your favorite. For me it was Befriended; "Tommorrow on the Runway" came at me like a lingering dream, I'd never heard anything that expressed so clear a feeling of longing. Hearing other albums, I've not been impressed with the same momentous presence. Nonetheless, I've also yet to hear an Innocence Mission album that wasn't exceedingly pretty and poetic, if a bit mild mannered. We Walked In Song is another great recording in a line of great recordings from a band that knows its style and is completely comfortable walking around in it and inviting the listener into their sleepy transcendence. "Brotherhood of Men" and "Lake Shore Drive" are standouts.

great for ipod listening, especially up north in the snow

With a rhythm section composed of bassist Mike Bitts and drummer Steve Brown, the Innocence Mission released their eponymous debut album...
