I Don't Want War - But I'll Take More Of This!

Excellent single by this growing band. This track deserves respect...but it's not asking for's demanding it. And, I like that raw attitude. This isn't for everyone but it deserves a shot if you're tired of the same ole' mainstream and the same ole' indie for that matter. This song sounds not that far off from Thom Yorke's 'Eraser' album and Bjork's 'Volta', with some impressive modern-classical elements (neo-classical/Steve Reich?) and instrumentation such as bassoon, oboe, clarinet, and brass, a ghoulish children's chorus that is reminiscent of a Greek chorus. Also MIA tends to be an influence, in addition to Hip-Hop in general filtered through a Post-Punk edge.

All this blended together produces a sound that is both modern and ancient at the same time. I watched an interview with the singer and leader of TNP, and it was an awkward interview where he actually sounded quite ignorant of Classical music in general. But sometimes when we're young, as long as you have ambition and commitment this ignorance can be of some benefit for certain period of time. Often in the journey of music, film, and art in general it's more exciting to witness a creation that is in search of what it wants to be, and where it wants to go, rather than something that knows its place and is comfortable. And, the former is what I hear in this song: a work of beautiful tension and unrest.

Great Song. I love Assassin's Creed. The song fits perfectly with the story. I'm glad ITunes has this song.
