BETTER EVERY TIME YOU HEAR IT
I didn’t know what to expect when I put the Cd in my Home Theater system, but once the music started, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. As a “hard-core” Fusion fan, it took a moment to realize this more traditional Jazz recording had just blown me away. The compositions are definitely the highlight of the experience, and the band is so “together as one” that listening to this Cd makes me wonder why Catwalk isn’t in every record store or on top of the Internet’s Jazz favorite downloads list at iTunes, Msn, and Yahoo. This is one of those Cd’s that seems to get better every time you hear it.
Hardly elevator music
I found these to be interesting and unique tunes, hardly the pablum of elevator music. Great sax solos, strong grooves, and interesting harmonies. It's great to hear a band doing something different than the rest, and doing it well. I'm lovin' this stuff. Anyone else ever heard of these guys?
Best Of Lot
I got this CD with a number of others and put it into my usual rotation of new music. Catwalk is a standout. It’s modern jazz with unique twists and inflections. The songs touch on world music exploring Fusion, Celtic, Rock, Funk and other styles but never looses that jazz edge or pulse. If you like jazz and you want to try something new you can’t go wrong with this disk.
