iTunes Editors’ Notes

To coincide with the 25th anniversary of the band’s first LP and the release of a new documentary, longstanding Los Angeles funk-rock heroes Fishbone regrouped to record a new six-song album. It's the first release in more than 10 years to feature three original members—Angelo Moore, Norwood Fisher, and Walter Kirby.(If you’ve seen the documentary, you'll know that's no small feat.) For a band with members pushing 50, Crazy Glue is an exceedingly athletic album. The band is spry and elastic, and at times its hyperkinetic energy harks back to its earliest recordings, especially on “DUI Friday” and “Gittin’ in That Ass.” Moore’s flexible and often-unhinged vocals are in top form. He could easily pass for a vocalist half (or even one-third) his age. The band’s thrash-metal edges are in full effect—thanks in part to former Suicidal Tendencies guitarist Rocky George—but Fishbone still writes songs that are, above all, catchy and fun. Fans of the recent incarnation of The Red Hot Chili Peppers should certainly check out “Crazy Glue” and “Flutterbutter,” two songs that prove that Fishbone is every bit equal to its more famous peers.

Fishbone is red hot!

Fishbone is one of the greatest live bands of all time.

Always nice to hear new music from one of the most legendary bands of all time. Great EP, saw you guys play with Slightly Stoopid earlier in the year, and your live show is one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Love for Fishbone

So stoked on this new album! I just recently saw "Everyday Sunshine" and it was one of the best documentaries i've seen. I can't help but compare it to Red Hot Chili Pepper's "Scar Tissue" and the insight it gave me on Fishbone. I definitely have a much deeper appreciation for this band and I will always support them and any music they release. Love these guys and I can't wait to see them live again. Def going to check them out at Amoeba Records in LA at the end of this month :)

Combining equal parts of deep funk, high-energy punk, and frantic ska, the Los Angeles-based Fishbone was one of the most distinctive and eclectic alternative rock bands of the late '80s. With their hyperactive, self-conscious diversity, goofy sense of humor, and sharp social commentary, the group gained a...
