Customer Reviews

I can't wait for this album!! This is a very good band. And has become one of my favorites. I love all their stuff! Definitely pre order/buy this album!

More hooks than a meat locker. This record is full of fat sounds, fuzzy guitars and heavy grooves with choruses that will stick to your ribs like peanut butter.

A rarity: timeless rock with guts, soul & balls.

Aeges emerges with an album that oozes authenticity and the kind of paradoxically unhinged, yet controlled passion that you can't fake. The recent addition of guitarist and co-singer/songwriter Cory Clark seems to have breathed some new life into the band as well. You get the distinct feeling these guys aren't a studio farse, but that they can all really play... and that they mean every note. There's no stench of overthinking, overplaying or pretense. Thankfully, there's also no sense that there was some jaded or scared-to-lose-his-job record label executive stearing the ship–– forcing "the single"––while leaving the listener feeling marketed and pandered to. Instead, what we get with "Weightless", is a rock album that takes the baton, honoring the lineage of the kind of hard-hitting rock that's been made by those who couldn't live without it. Without trying to reinvent the wheel, there's a freshness to the songs and performances that is, well, refreshing. It's also worth noting that sonically, the album isn't playing around. It sounds great; It's visceral without sounding over-hyped. This means they didn't cut corners, but rather took the time, energy and care it takes to create harmonically rich tones; because it's worth doing... because it's about feel. So, get in your car, crank this album up and drive. With a soundtrack like this, it doesn't matter where you're going, the music is it's own destination.

Formed: 2011 in Los Angeles, CA

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '10s

Los Angeles-based hard rock quartet Aeges formed in 2011 as a new creative outlet for a group of members from bands like Pelican, Tusk, Unwritten Law, and the Rise. They made their debut with the EP Roaches (Hawthorne Street Records) before releasing their first LP in 2012. The Bridge unveiled a riff-heavy sound drenched in feedback and flourishes of prog rock exploration, taking Aeges' pedigree from the post-hardcore world and combining it with the pop hooks and sludge of desert rock, like Queens...
