Oh so sweet!

This is a refreshing band with a lot to say. This is a very honest recording both sonically and lyrically. It's very tough to do what they are doing without being pigeon toed into a genre of boring monotany. Music in the "Christian" market is (IMO) usually very cliche and not well thought out... but Welcome To The Welcome Wagon is surely heartfelt and very well crafted! No slick Nashville production or 2 year old "Top 40" type songs written with Godly Lyrics... just sweet, raw, and beautiful music! This should make many people and musicians rethink what religious music can be and should be... top notch and different! There are no rules when you are creating songs and Sufjan stuck to that when producing this. His influence and creativity really make this record shine. Don't draw up any preconceptions before you listen to this record... it will make you smile on the inside!

If you like Sufjan Stevens and Jesus you

I read about this band in paste magazine and I wanted to check them out. Best way to discribe this album is Sufian Stevens if he did Christian songs. It's got his influence all over this (after all, he produced it) and you hear it throughout. Same kind of harmonies, banjo strumming, guitar picking, horn section, piano playing, etc. If you're Saved this album will full you with joy, if you're not you'll love the music. I should warn those of you who are not keen on Jesus it is LOADED WITH HIM. I really like this record, and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I reserve that kind of rating to The Beatles, The Who, and Dylan. You know, the best of the best.

Delightful record!

It might be interesting to note that the Vito Aiuto was actually the lead singer on Sufjan Stevens' Christmas songs "I Saw Three Ships" and "Once In David's Royal City". You might not have noticed, though, because his voice sounds quite a bit like Sufjans' but a little less airy.
